If you know exactly where everyone is in a mass casualty situation vital time can be saved and every effort concentrated on their rescue.

The new iPIRB gives victims a far greater chance of survival.

This robust, compact, pocket sized AIS-SART, in combination with Loc8 and Microplot software, provides a unique, reliable way of locating and tracking marine disaster casualties.

Vital information for everyone who has abandoned ship, however many there are, will be found and tracked for a minimum of 92 hours. Any drift and change in position is tracked and updated 8 times per minute.

iPIRB sends its information in real time to all AIS plotters within range, providing standard AIS data as required by SOLAS (Id., Position, Speed and Course Over Ground).

With the Microplot and Loc8, the data is relayed via satellite and can be viewed at the company's onshore office using an Internet browser.

Passenger and crew names can be included on the on-shore database, along with any health issues, so priorities can be established.

Marine Rescue Organisation Centres can also access this information, via the Internet, helping them to co-ordinate,
organise and deploy quickly and more effectively.

iPIRB - the means to identify and track multiple casualties in real time.

At the heart of the system is the iPIRB (Individual Position Indicating Rescue Beacon). The beacon can be issued to individual crew, passengers or rig personnel, or fitted to life jackets.

The iPIRB is a small, robust and compact pocket sized unit, which is either manually or automatically activated when in contact with water. 

Its reliable AIS-SART transmissions are visible on all AIS plotters within range. This significantly enhances search and rescue operations and directs efforts faster toward saving lives.

The complete system uses a combination of hardware and software, including the AIS-SART, Microplot (v 7 or 8) Vessel Safety Monitoring (VSM) and Loc8.

These provide a comprehensive real time data system for ship and shore based remote tracking; casualty identification; recovery planning and asset co-ordination.

Microplot – The industry standard for VSM (Vessel Safety Monitoring)

Microplot (Version 8 is due soon) is one of the most widely used VSM systems in the North Sea.

It is a tried and tested system with over 15 years proven capability and provides a highly configurable, operator controlled VSM software package, with scalable functionality.

Microplot gives users a high quality ECS, with high end navigation functions to watch leaders and operators and has a multidiscipline capability for monitoring vessel activity and Search and Rescue interactions.

Data can be displayed in the required format of the licensing client; either in an office based, fully functioning Microplot version, via a secure web browser or with the clients own GIS (Geo Information System).

Available data includes AIS, ARPA and 'Own ship' tracking data, which can be expanded to include such things as engine and cargo information and safety data.

Loc8 Compresses and transmits data securely via satellite broadband

Loc8 can be installed as part of any Microplot 7 or 8 system, including retrofitting existing installations. Or it can be installed as a Black Box solution with minimal crew interaction or involvement.

The system was developed to enable ship and rig operators to access real time data from their sea based assets or vessels.

Loc8 gathers, compresses and transmits data via satellite broadband to secure servers. Real time data is visible via an Internet connection by licensed customers on secure web browsers or an office based version of Microplot, or within the client's own Geo Information System.

Remote Access Capability enables Marine MTS to access the Microplot system for servicing, maintaining and upgrading the software and its databases.

This is done whilst the vessel is underway. A 256 bit encryption service, based in and RSA key exchange is used to maintain the tightest possible security and integrity of the ship's network and satellite broadband connection.

Vessels, which already have systems installed only need an additional software module installation and a satellite broadband connection for Remote Access Capability.
