Jotron EPIRB's
(Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons)

Jotron developed and installed the world's first Distress Radio Beacon on board a ship in 1970. Since then thousands of Tron EPIRB's have been installed on all types of ships worldwide.

The company also took part, in the 1980's, in the development and test trials of the Cospas Sarsat satellite system. This resulted in 1989 in the world's first certificate of approval, number 001, for the Tron 30s, a 406MHz float free EPIRB.

Jotron is today considered a world leader in the manufacture of high quality EPIRB's and at the forefront of technology, conforming to current regulations and meeting the demands of commercial shipping, fishing and offshore operations, as well as leisure industries worldwide.
