Emsys is W R Systems' second generation of continuous emissions monitoring systems. Technology which combines the measurement of both Particular Matter (PM) and Gas emissions to help ships meet MARPOL Annex VI Maritime Emissions North American Emissions regulations and Emission Control Area (ECA) Particle Matter Regulations.Emsys gives ships continuous emission monitoring, with laser-optic, sensor driven technology in an enclosed, self-contained unit. The device is designed and built to operate in marine conditions to provide automated analysis and records data from multiple smokestacks and boilers.WR Systems developed the equipment to help the maritime industry deal with the emissions control and regulations recently applied in the USA and soon to be implemented in Europe and other emission control zones. Nitrogen Oxide (NO) and Dioxide (NO2 ); Sulphur (SO2) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2); Particle Matter (PM) as well as other gases are analysed and the data recorded. A GPS charting interface plots an dtracks the vessel’s position so as to help voyage compliance management in ECA zones.
